UCOSDG Company Limited Participates in the Greenovative Forum, 13th Edition, 2023 Promoting Future Energy Solutions for Sustainable Mobility
The Greenovative Forum’s 13th edition in 2023, organized by Bangchak Corporation Public Co. Ltd., convened on November 23, 2023, assembling global and national experts to discuss the future of fuel and sustainable transportation under the theme “Regenerative Fuels: Sustainable Mobility”. The event, attended by nearly 300 participants at the M Tower and approximately 2,700 online, featured dignitaries including Mrs. Astrid Emilia Helle, the Norwegian Ambassador to Thailand, Mr. Pinsak Suraswadi, Director-General of the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, and Mr. Sakrai Kongtham, Assistant Director of Business Development, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.
Mr. Chaiwat Kovavisarach, President and CEO of Bangchak Corporation Public Co. Ltd., delivered a keynote on “Regenerative Fuels: Sustainable Mobility”, highlighting the future fuels for sustainable travel. He emphasized the growing importance of clean energy, with hydrogen seen as a future option requiring further technological development for cost-effective production and application. With the world’s high fuel demand reaching 220 million barrels per day, liquid fuels or Liquid Fuels are deemed critical due to their high energy density and convenient transportation.
In terms of transportation and logistics, which still heavily rely on fuel, biofuels (biofuels) and Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technologies are key to developing sustainable and environmentally friendly fuel solutions.
UCOSDG Company Limited, as one of the participants, showed great interest in using used cooking oil to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The event featured insights from global energy organization experts on future fuels for sustainable travel. Mr. Ji Yang Lum, Associate Director, Biofuels Research and Analytics, S&P Global Commodity Insights discussed “Global Transportation with Sustainable Fuel Market”. Representatives from leading technology companies in the refining, petrochemical, and future fuels industries, like Mr. Michael Spivey, Sales Director, Honeywell UOP, and Mr. Jeff Caton, Commercial Director – Asia Pacific, Axens Group, shared insights on “A Total Solution for Low Carbon Intensity Renewable Fuels” and “Solutions for Energy Transition by Innovated Technologies”, respectively.
The forum also included a panel discussion “Pioneering Sustainable Aerospace: Transforming the Skies for Sustainable Aviation” with distinguished guests from various sectors of the aviation industry. They discussed the role of SAF in reducing carbon dioxide emissions and the various changes that would make flying with SAF more accessible and improve its utilization, pushing the industry towards a zero greenhouse gas emission future.
